What sets us apart from other menopause care providers?

All of our clinicians are trained to an advanced level in the management of menopause and regularly undertake complex specialist care.

We support women through all stages of the menopause transition; perimenopause, menopause and postmenopause. We can also manage menopausal symptoms during and after cancer treatment, surgical and medical menopause, as well as premature ovarian insufficiency- POI.

What we do?

At The York Clinic, we provide confidential consultations and develop an individual management plan with you. These can include hormone replacement therapy (HRT), other medical therapies and holistic approaches to address your symptoms.

We will spend time with you providing a personalised assessment and use our expertise to provide you with evidence-based advice and treatment. Continued support can be provided with follow-up appointments and bespoke care packages which include an assured supply of medication posted directly to your door. We can provide a secure supply of HRT without the need to reorder.

We know that menopause happens when life is already very busy. Once we have created a plan for you, if medication is the best option, we will arrange for this to be delivered to you on a regular basis, so you never run out, and you don’t have to reorder. We will check in with you to find out how you are doing, and arrange a follow-up appointment in 3 months that is flexible to fit with your schedule.

Our ongoing support packages mean you are always able to reach out for advice, and we will work behind the scenes to ensure you have one less thing to manage.

What Makes Different

What Makes The York Clinic Different

Training

We train doctors, nurses, and pharmacists in menopause care, supporting them to achieve British Menopause Society (BMS) certification. This helps raise menopause expertise across the NHS and ensures patients receive the highest standard of care.

Ethics

Every clinician at The York Clinic works in the NHS. Private practice should complement, not reduce, NHS capacity. We founded the clinic to fill a gap in York, where there was previously no specialist menopause service in either community or hospital care.

Accreditation & Expertise

Our team consists of highly trained healthcare professionals with BMS certification and specialist experience in menopause care. Many of our clinicians hold advanced BMS qualifications, recognised benchmarks of expertise in managing complex menopause cases - ensuring evidence-based, personalised treatment for all patients.

Medication Guarantee

HRT shortages in the UK have caused women to be switched between products, sometimes with serious consequences. We pre-purchase medication for our patients, guaranteeing supply for as long as you remain with us - a service no other clinic currently offers.

Complex Care Expertise

We provide specialist care for complex cases, including post-cancer menopause, chemotherapy-induced menopause, surgical menopause, and Primary Ovarian Insufficiency (POI). If you’ve been told your situation is “too complicated,” we encourage you to speak to us.

Membership

Menopause is rarely solved in a single appointment. Our membership model provides continuity of care, covering follow-up appointments, prescription fees, and direct email access to your named clinician - ensuring long-term support from someone who truly knows you.

Training Programme

Beyond treating patients, we improve menopause care across the NHS. Our training programme equips clinicians with advanced skills, expanding expertise nationally and raising standards in menopause care.

Workplace Support

We collaborate with employers of all sizes, offering training, presentations, and voucher schemes to support their female workforce.

Collaboration with NHS GPs

With clear communication and sharing of your treatment plan with your NHS GP where appropriate, we ensure continuity of care and support within the broader healthcare system.

Referrals & Wellbeing Partners

Where needed, we refer to trusted specialists and menopause-focused wellbeing partners, including nutrition, strength & conditioning, and professional coaching.
